Whether you want to be a traditional oil painter or a digital illustrator, it is very important to have a solid foundation in drawing.
This 9-week class will allow students to pursue their own interests in art while also being introduced to fundamental principles of drawing. This class will start with pencil, then explore powdered graphite, and pen. Students will be provided with a mix of drawing exercises to develop their skills and opportunities to develop their own interests.

Week 1 (Jul 2) Master Copy Bargue Drawing- Introduce Comparative Measurement
Week 2 (Jul 9) Still Life- Drawing from Direct Observation.
Week 3 (Jul 16) Landscape- Composition, Working from photo. Drawing with Pen.

William Demaria is a Baltimore based artist who has always loved drawing and traditional oil painting. He finds the process of creating artwork itself to be beautiful and has always been interested in studying the way artwork is made.
