Drawing for Young Adults with William Demaria - Weekly - 7 Sessions (Copy)

Age: 10+

Whether you want to be a traditional oil painter or a digital illustrator, it is very important to have a solid foundation in drawing.

This 6-week class will allow students to pursue their own interests in art while also being introduced to fundamental principles of drawing. This class will start with pencil, then explore powdered graphite, and pen. Students will be provided with a mix of drawing exercises to develop their skills and opportunities to develop their own interests.

Syllabus:

Week 1 Master Copy Bargue Drawing- Introduce Comparative Measurement

Blending with pencils and powdered graphite

Week 2 Still Life- Drawing from Direct Observation.

Week 3 Landscape- Composition, Working from photo. Drawing with Pen.

Week 4 Personal Projects

Week 5 Personal Projects

William Demaria is a Baltimore based artist who has always loved drawing and traditional oil painting. He finds the process of creating artwork itself to be beautiful and has always been interested in studying the way artwork is made. He believes that every student, no matter their skill level, has an individual voice that should be developed. His teaching style is flexible and the pace of his classes adapts to suite individual students needsMask optional

At the end of the course there will be an exhibition of students’ work at the Georgetown Book Hill Library.
