6 sessions
Thursdays : March 6, 2025 to April 17, 2025 (no class on March 20th)
5 pm-7 pm
$240
Supplies: $25 paid to the instructor
In this class will learn:
1. Drawing: fast figure sketching to train the eye to capture movement. Experiment with different materials like charcoal, colored pencils, or ink to see how they change your style.
2. Painting: Dive into color theory by creating a color wheel with your paints. Experiment with different techniques such as glazing, wax and wet-on-wet. You could also try painting with unconventional tools like sponges or even your fingers.
3. Mono Printing: Use a simple glass plate to create unique prints. Experiment with layering colors and textures, and incorporate found objects like leaves or fabric to add interest to your prints.
4. Collage: Gather various materials like magazines, newspapers, fabric, and photographs. Create a theme for your collage, or let your intuition guide you. Try adding a layer of paint or drawing over your collage for a mixed-media effect.
5. Mixed Media: Combine drawing, painting, and collage in one piece. Explore how different textures and materials interact. You might use acrylics, watercolors, and pastels
all in the same artwork.
6. Assemblage: Collect found objects and transform them into a cohesive piece. This could be anything from old toys to scrap metal. Think about the story you want to tell and how each object contributes to that narrative.
