Description: This workshop will touch on the most important aspects of photography, from light to composition, in an effort to start a teen's photography journey! By the end, you should feel comfortable taking good photos and will come away with recommendations for further study and practice.
In the first hour, we will discuss light: exposure, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, highlights, shadows, midtones, etc. This will go into detail on how to view different scenes and adjust each camera setting.
The second hour will focus on framing and composition: how to balance the photo, what to include/exclude, subject and background, different details, and more. Rather than a strict approach, this will be an exploration of these skills and how to apply them.
Facilitator Bio: Noah is currently a student at American University and a Fellow at the Washington Printmakers Gallery. An avid photographer, Noah focuses on wildlife, landscapes, and portrait art, trying to capture what is often left unseen.
