In this introduction to botanical ink making, learn how to extract nature’s colors and textures to print on paper. Working with onion skins, fresh and dried herbs, and plants. Participants will learn to to make inks for drawing, painting and printmaking.
Starting with simple and easily, create ink from plants, the instructor will demonstrate the process and show examples of finished products. Further discussions of other easy natural inks and appropriate safety considerations will be included. Discussions of setup for home ink making including materials and equipment will be covered.

Participants are welcome to watch, take notes or do the project along with the instructor. The video link will be available after the class for 2 weeks.

Christine Harrison is a visual artist living on the Oregon Coast. She uses the botanical abundance of her habitat as the beginning of her paintings, prints and sculpture. She continues her daily regiment of leaf walks with her dog and cooking up new art adventures. She has been a practicing artist 40 years receiving a MFA (1989) from California College of the Arts, San Francisco, CA.
