Location: Washington Printmakers Gallery,
1675 Wisconsin Avenue Northwest Washington, DC 20007

Course Description:

Selling art is a difficult task. Trying to figure out the logistics of running an art business while also figuring out how to sell your art is nearly impossible. Intended for artists at all levels, this class will cover aspects of art business that aren’t covered in art school like documentation, storage, framing, transport and shipping. The goal of this class is to provide students with solutions for these potentially crippling topics at various different price levels and provide them with a solid foundation to build their art practice.

Bio
William Demaria is a practicing artist with experience in art handling primarily from traveling to art fairs. Previously he worked as a printer for Universal Limited Art Editions where he helped create, document, and handle works on paper and a preparator for Goucher University where he transported and installed art exhibitions for the art galleries.

While he was an art student, he mishandled his own artwork and accidentally ruined $15,000 of his own inventory. This class is designed based on hard learned lessons he learned throughout his career and tips and tricks he learned from more experienced art handlers throughout his career.
