This collection of Carolyn Pomponio's prints includes serigraphs, monotypes and photos that span the arc of her work from the year the Washington Printmakers Gallery was founded in 1985 to the present. Crisp line and bright color are the mainstays of these works, spelling out the bold relationships as they touch and intertwine.

With degrees in graphic arts and design from George Mason University and art history and English literature from George Washington University, and as a former member of the Washington Women's Art Center, Carolyn began her printmaking journey by mastering the intricacies of stone lithography, etching, silk screen, monoprint, monotype and solar plate transfer.

She is a founding member of the Washington Printmakers Gallery (1985) and served as its first president, and as well as vice-president and treasurer through the years. Carolyn founded the Washington Print Foundation in 2005, a 501©3 non-profit created for funding arts-related projects and is currently its president.

Pomponio's prints are in private and public collections world-wide including Shepard Pratt Hospital, Baltimore, MD; the Henry L. Stimson Research Center, WDC, Arte Moderno, Buenos Aires, Argentina; the Library of Congress, U.S. Embassies in Gabarone, Botswana, in Muscat, Oman, and in Jakarta, Indonesia; and in the collections of Georgetown University and George Mason University, among many others.
