Serigraph

Serigraphy is a stencil technique. Stencils are created by painting, adhering, or exposing photographically the negative of an image onto a screen of mesh fabric stretched tightly over a frame. The frame is set down on the paper and ink is forced through the mesh with a flexible squeegee blade. Where stencils cover the fabric mesh, the ink does not reach the paper. Multiple screens can create a multi-color serigraph. Serigraphs are also called screen-prints or silkscreen prints.
