Collagraph

Collagraph plates are built up through a collage-like process combining materials as diverse as cardboard, fabric, gesso, glue, string, sand, carborundum grit, and found objects. The artist can also draw into or manipulate the gesso or glue before it hardens. Collagraph prints are usually pulled on a press. Ink can be transferred to the paper from the surface of the collograph plate (as with a relief print) as well as from lines in the plate (as with an intaglio print.)
