July 13, Saturday, 2-4pm,
“Adobe Photoshop for Artists” demonstration for adults,
with Danny Schweers. Free!
Danny Schweers, a studio instructor at the Delaware Art Museum, will show you the basics of Adobe Photoshop software, with an emphasis on layers and how to use them to stack images, create masks, and add type, as well as how to use adjustment layers with their various blend modes. He will show you how to make negatives for printmaking and how to do a mirror-reverse as well. In particular, he will show you various ways to use layer masks to adjust specific areas while leaving others untouched. Questions are welcome during the presentation but no one is expected to bring a computer.
Free, but adults only, please. As of May 13, 2019, three artists at the Washington Printmakers Gallery and one non-member printmaker have said they hope to attend. Just to be clear, the event is open to members and non-members. Attendance will be limited to ten (10) participants, so register now by using the Contact form on this website. If you register, you are encouraged to suggest specific questions for Danny to answer during his presentation.
Yes, Photoshop software will work on a MacBook Air laptop computer. I will be using a 2011 MacBook Pro laptop computer for my presentation. Photoshop software costs $9.99/month from Adobe and comes with Lightroom software as well. There is no long-term contract to sign.
