Without Reservations
Anne McLaughlin

Without Reservations, Anne McLaughlin's exhibition of new images, took life from her experimenting with clay and gelatin monoprints stimulated by the addition gemstones stones and beads. Having dabbled in jewelry making and leather craft as well as being a printmaker, she discovered a harmony of mediums when embellishing her monoprints. This show brings together the softness of clay and gelatin images with hard surfaces of stones, glass and metal -- with a soft breeze from feathers. The images are not just a new printmaking avenue for McLaughlin but a journey into a freer more abstract style. "Working in clay especially takes me back to my love of nature but in the exciting avenue of non-representational imagery. However, I must confess that when I have completed a print, I do find 'reality' within," according to McLaughlin.

Without Reservations will be the first mini-solo exhibition held in the Press Room. Originally the vault for Little Tavern (the fast-food company and original tenant of the Pyramid Atlantic Building), WPG renovated the space into a small exhibition area and demo room, complete with a small printing press, from which it gets its name. Each month, the Press Room hosts a group member show, extension of the main solo artists’ show, or now, a mini-solo by WPG or outside printmakers. Without Reservations will run concurrently with the main solo exhibition “Doodle, Digit, Dot” by Mike Hagan.
