The Still Point

A Press Room Mini Solo

I think of my work in terms of personal metaphor, so if it comes across as somewhat elusive to the viewer then so much the better. Although it varies in how much it is happening in different prints, the hope is for the landscape view to remain anonymous, devoid of identifying details that might reveal any particular place.

While the intricacy of the patterning in much of my work may appear compulsive to the viewer, I view it as a reflection of the complete immersion that I can allow myself only in the studio. - Robin Gibson

Robin Gibson received her MFA from the University of Wisconsin and is now a professor at Pennsylvania State University. Her work has been shown across the US, and has been included in many juried exhibitions, including the Rockport Center for the Arts 2011 Shoreline Biennial and WPG’s own National Small Works Exhibition.
