Artist Statement

Continuing with the idea of safe havens and symbolic images from previous exhibits, Svat has delved into the intergenerational ideas from parents and all the changes in their lives, to the birth of twin grandchildren. The cycle continues with change but the needs are the same. The beginning and ending stages of life are ever present with the rediscovery of how precious each one is.

Biography

A graduate of Kent State University, Svat has exhibited in numerous exhibitions in the U.S. as well as Belgium, Poland, Germany and Brazil. Prints by Svat are included in many collections including the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Citibank, Museum of Modern art, Buenos Aires, Argentina and the Corcoran Gallery of Art.
