It’s a big weekend at Washington Printmakers Gallery, with our artists leading two hands-on workshops for adults and children accompanied by adults.
On Saturday April 14, from 3-5 printmakers Nina Muys & Amy Guadagnoli will lead a “Print In.” They may teach you how to make prints with gelatin (the same stuff Jello is made from but clear), or Styrofoam trays, or something else altogether. So come and find out. This workshop is suitable for children 5 and up.
On Sunday April 15, from 4-6, Sally Canzoneri will lead a book arts workshop on the “Garfield Street” book form that she invented. The book is made by folding sheets of paper and joining them together by inserting part of each sheet into the next page. It can be made in a wide variety of shapes and sizes: concertina or codex form, tall, slim, wide, or chunky. It has pockets and secret compartments and can work as a photo album or scrapbook. This workshop is suitable for children third grade and up.
Reservations are not required, but are appreciated. Send them to firstname.lastname@example.org
